At this week's service we honour the woman that was there at the beginning of our story, and all the women who have left their handwriting in pages that have been written since. Mother's Day has its origins in justice seeking and peace making, but we also recognize that it can be a delicate day for some, filled with complicated feelings and mixed emotions. And so we come together in the affirmation that each one of us is a beloved child of the living God. As was announced last week, Rev. Jason and his wife, Rev. Bri-anne Swan, who is the minister at East End United, will be doing a pulpit swap this week. We look forward to Bri-anne's leadership and message based on the remarkable story of 'chosen family' between two women found in the Book of Ruth.
