Congregational Life Committee

Mission

Formerly known as the Congregational Care Committee, the Congregational Life Committee's Mission is to foster a culture that enables the sustained engagement of congregation members by building relationships and encouraging their involvement in the life of the Church. Provide a wide variety of methods to keep members and adherents  informed about and connected to MET activities and programs, outside of the Sunday worship service. To monitor and assist the clergy in the pastoral care function to those unable to fully participate in the life of the church.

Function

1. Monitor and update the Church database and congregational directory.

2. Assist and support the Congregational Care Sub-Committee in their communication with members and adherents who are ill, disabled, and desire contacts with clergy or Congregational Care volunteers.

3. Monitor church attendance and follow up on people who appear to be absent from congregational life without apparent reason.

4. Plan and deliver several congregation social events during the year to promote community building through celebration. The Hospitality Sub-Committee will set their yearly events in consultation with the Board, other committees and staff.

5. Support the Affirm Sub-Committee in their activities as required.

6. Support the Membership Sub-Committee in the invitation and retention of Church Membership.

7. Support the Spiritual Development Sub-Committee in the ongoing development of Spiritual Care networks in the church through the annual week of directed prayer.

8. Suppor the work of the Adult Children of Aging Parents.
