Getting Involved

Contributing and Getting Involved with Met

Metropolitan United Church depends on the generosity of its members, friends and neighbours.

Contribute Your Time

The gift of one's time and talents is invaluable, and Metropolitan depends on its volunteers to keep our programs running. But your commitment need not be long-term: there are many opportunities, from helping with one-time short-term projects to sitting on boards and committees.

Here's an overview of current volunteer opportunities at Metropolitan.

Committees: A number of our working committees are looking for new members. If you're interested and would like further information, please contact Linn Holness or Rev. John Joseph Mastandrea at 416-363-0331, ext. 24.

Contribute Funds

As one of Toronto's largest cathedrals, ministering to the city's core, Metropolitan depends on the generosity of its members and neighbours to meet its ever-increasing expenses. All donations to Metropolitan will receive a tax receipt at year end.  More details are available here.

Gifts In-Kind

We rely on generous donations of gifts-in-kind to support many of our outreach/community services. Here is what we need right now:

Food Cupboard: We run a food bank and are in continual need of non-perishable food items, food for babies etc.

Clothing Room: We are always looking for men's clothing, including jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts and casual shoes.

Out of the Cold lunch program: we serve home-made cookies at our weekly Out of the Cold lunch during the cold months. Donations of cookies are welcome, and empty cookie tins are provided in the Narthex.
