Property & Maintenance Committee

Mandate

To ensure the continued availability and satisfactory maintenance of the property and facilities, within our financial capabilities.

Functions

  1. Work with the building custodial and security staff in overseeing the maintenance and timely repair of the building and grounds.
  2. Build and maintain a working relationship with the City of Toronto Parks and Recreation Department in regard to their responsibilities for the grounds south of the church building.
  3. Consult with the Trustees and the church Treasurer in the maintenance of adequate security systems and insurance.
  4. Plan and present annually to the Official Board, all proposals concerning regular repair, maintenance and capital improvement projects.
  5. Keep records of property work completed each year.
  6. Evluate the work of the custodial staff in cooperation with the Director of Administration and Facilitites.
  7. Screen and authorize all building maintenance and repair contracts, within the current budget.
  8. Each committee member (or several members) will be responsible for a specific function.
