Slowly, slowly the little bird builds it's nestWhen I was in Burkina Faso with my sister this summer, I learned the saying "Doni doni kono nita niama" which means, in Jula (the language of the Jula people who live in Bobo Dioulasso), "Slowly, slowly the little bird builds its nest." This had become a bit of a motto for me as I work on launching the website, and passing responsibility over to the organization, one twig at a time. I've also said it to many people, after I send them a quick email to follow up on our training meetings - an email which quickly becomes 500 words, a thick stew of information and instructions! I would like to thank everyone that I have met with for your encouraging words, and for being such great sports, willing to jump into this new communication adventure! I'd also like to encourage everyone to continue submitting those events, blogs, poll questions, etc onto the website. The more robust the site, the better! (I'm also testing the new blog classification system. We will be using this for focused discussions within the committee pages - an ideal place for letting people know about upcoming events happening outside of Met, or for discussion among committee members.) I wonder if this blog will land on all the pages I want it to - Fingers crossed!
