"In the relentless busyness of modern life, we have lost the rhythm between action and rest ... Because we do not rest, we lose our way. We miss the compass points that show us where to go. We lose the nourishment that gives us succor. We miss the quiet that gives us wisdom. Poisoned by the hypnotic belief that good things come only through tireless effort, we never truly rest. And for want of rest, our lives are in danger." from Sabbath by Wayne Muller By Guest at 2008-03-31 13:57 | New & Notable | Our Sunday Morning | read more | login to post comments

Welcome visitors!Metropolitan United Church is a busy destination all week long. We welcome all visitors with open arms, whether you want to drop in and see our lovely sanctuary or try us out for a worship service or two. Our doors are open to people from every faith, and we regularly welcome guests from around the world. One of the best times to visit is for our 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service, complete with preaching, choirs and fellowship. This is the service that will give you the best sense of what we're about. More information about this and our other worship services can be found in the Our Sunday Morning section of this website. Congregation Approves Amended AgreementAbout 75 people stayed after the Sunday worship service on June 24, 2007 to discuss and eventually approve the amendments to the agreement with Lancer Corporation to develop the north end of Metropolitan's property. The motion was passed almost exactly as presented, the only change being that the Trustees will seek Presbytery Approval "as necessary". The motion references the attached document.
