Regular Monthly Library Committee Meeting, Sunday, September 21, 2008, in the Flanders Library, 10:00 - 10:50 a.m.   It's a new season; watch for book talks and other Library events.  Check out our online catalogue. The monthly Library Committee Meeting will be held in the Library at 10:00 am, January 20, 2008. 

Note the new time for the Library Committee Meeting:  10:00 am - 10:55 am, December 16, 2007.

If you've seen the November issue of The Observer, you may have noticed the article on page 22, "Holy Mischief".  The lead below the title reads: 'Two years ago, a pair of Winnipeggers launched GEEZ magazine. Their subversive take on Christianity is gaining popularity'.

The Met Library subscribes to GEEZ - you may borrow an issue for a couple of weeks!  If you don't receive The Observer, you can catch up on that magazine in the Library also.  Same deal - we'll let you borrow an issue.

Our lively and energetic chairperson, Marion Lick, has had a temporary slowdown, but I'm sure she will be up and at it again before long! Say a prayer, visualize her up at the front urging us all to visit the Library and hold her in your heart.

Mission

The Metropolitan United Church Library seeks, through its activities, to promote the spiritual development and the Christian education of the people in our church. The library provides books and other education materials to members of the congregation and members of the community who have an interest in spiritual development, religious life, or congregational and church history.

This week we are highlighting Geez magazine.  Ponder a magazine that is ad free and non-profit.  Started in the fall of '05 we have all issues available.
