Celebrate Met's 190 years. On March 9th, join John Joseph in the Narthex, following our "Four Corners" coffee event, for a light lunch and a look at Met's history.  Judith St. John's FIRM FOUNDATIONS  will be the topic of our discussion.  Copies of the book are available in the Met Library.  If you're new to Met or a part of the ongoing story of her ministry, join the Library Committee in celebrating our heritage!


Congregational Christmas Dinner

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CONGREGATIONAL CHRISTMAS DINNER.

 

The Hospitality Committee is calling for volunteers who are willing to collect and cook Christmas Turkeys for the Congregational Christmas Dinner on December 9.

This would entail:

 

1. Collecting a frozen turkey on Dec. 2 after the 11 am. Sunday service;

2. Cooking the turkey and returning it on Saturday Dec.8th. The sliced,cooked turkey should be put back in the disposable pan, along with the dressing. Gravy can go into the separate container.

Women’s Retreat and Workshop in BELIZE

It is not too early to consider joining our Honourary Pastoral Associate, Rev. Dr. Anne Simmonds for a Women’s Retreat and Workshop in BELIZE, February 20 – 27, 2008.  The highlights of this week include:

• A retreat experience – time for quiet, reflection and individual sessions with   Anne.
• A two day workshop with Belizean women titled: Women’s Wisdom – Valuing the Sacred in our Earthen Treasure.�
• An individual room in a comfortable, clean retreat house with large wrap around veranda and view of Caribbean Sea.
• Day trips to places of interest including an Island and coral reef.

Our dedicated community services staff and volunteers will be BBQing hotdogs and burgers and selling them with pop for $2.
