Local Attractions

Why not plan to follow our 11 a.m. Sunday service by spending an afternoon in the neighbourhood?

St. Lawrence Market (Front and Jarvis streets) has been named one of the finest markets in the world. While the south (food) market is open from Tuesday to Saturday, the north building hosts an antique market every Sunday.

Downtown Toronto

Metropolitan United Church is situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, close to public transit and a quick trip from where the Don Valley Parkway meets the Gardiner Expressway.

Why not plan to follow our 11 a.m. Sunday service by spending an afternoon in the neighbourhood? We're an easy walk to some of Toronto's most historic and significant attractions.

Met's legacy: building a community beyond the church

You can't buy your way to heaven through good works, but you can try to build a better society here and now. Past congregations have believed this is so, and the organizations they created have made Metropolitan a leader in supporting people who need help in Toronto's downtown core, no matter what their religious affiliation. Here are just three community-based organizations that have come a long way since they were born from the heart of Met.

Metropolitan is one of three significant cathederals in the area, giving "Church Street" its name.
