Welcome to the Advent & Christmas season at Metropolitan.  You can find all worship, programming and concert information at metunited.ca/advent

On Christmas Eve, we proclaim "The people who have walked in darkness have seen a great light." In this season, there is naturally a focus on light, but perhaps there is something just as important to learn from the dark. In his sermon "Lullaby of Light and Dark,” Rev. Meyers will explore this theme, while also doing something that will put him way out of his comfort zone.

  • Prelude: Various (D’Aquin; Guilmant; Willan; Pachelbel)
  • Readings: Isaiah 9:2-7; Psalm 96; Luke 2:1-20
  • Anthems
    • In the Bleak Mid-Winter (Darke)
    • Christ was Born on Christmas Day (Willcocks)
    • On Christmas Night (Vaughan Williams)
  • Sermon: "Lullaby of Light and Dark"
  • Postlude: From Heaven Above to Earth I Come (Pachelbel)
