We don't always know what to do with John the Baptist. The locust-eating wildman who preaches repentance and calls his flock a "brood of vipers" (generally a poor pastoral strategy) doesn't make his way onto many Christmas cards. In this week's sermon, Rev. Meyers explores how John's message, while definitely prickly, is ultimately one of hope in troubled times.

  • Prelude: Various (John Rutter; arr. Andrew Blyth; Adolphe Adam)
  • Readings: Malachi 3:1–4; Philippians 1:3–11; Luke 3:1–6
  • Sermon: “Prepare ye the Way!
  • Anthem: This is the Truth (arr. Kirke Mechem)
  • Band Offertory: A Starry Night (arr. Andrew Mackereth)
  • Postlude: It Came Upon a Midnight Clear (arr. Derek Broadbent)
We are thrilled to be welcoming back the full Metropolitan Silver Band to this week's service!
