Series: Sunday Sermons
Third Sunday of Easter
For the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday, the Rev. Dr. G. Malcolm Sinclair is calling his sermon “If the Trumpet Gives an Uncertain Sound.” “Texts following Easter Day present the church trying to imagine the implications and to figure out a best response to that day. Churches are so locked into their various traditions now that the trumpet sounds we make can create a confusing cacophony. What are the Easter implications, and how do we play them with a clear, clean sound?”
The Bible readings are Acts 3:12-19 (Peter speaks in Solomon’s Portico), 1 John 3:1-7 (children of God), and Luke 24: 36b-48 (Jesus appears to his disciples).
