Music is an important part of the spiritual life of Metropolitan United Church, and this poipular recording provides the listener with a sampling of the music heard at church during the Christmas season. The disc includes a variety of seasonal music, from arrangements of familiar carols to 21st century compositions, to music from our Great Heart ensemble to  selections played  by  carillon, handbells and organ. There's even a duet accompanied by theobo. This popular disc includes  the wonderful piece "Winter Star" which features Metropolitan's junior and adult choirs in a song which is both charming and spiritually uplifting.

The price is $20 for the cd plus $4 for shipping and handling if not picked up at the church.

Touch the Hem of His Garment

cd2-choir.thumbnailTouch the Hem includes a wide range of music, from a song by Thomas Tallis written 400 years ago to a soprano solo of "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands." There are pieces for the Metropolitan Silver Band, for Celtic harp, and two numbers for Metropolitan's 54-bell carillon. Of course, many of the numbers feature Metropolitan's celebrated choir, singing both traditional and modern songs. 21 numbers. Recorded at Metropolitan United Church, June 20-22, 1999. Total playing time: 58:04.

Sounds of the Soul

Bach All the music is performed by Patricia Wright, D.M.A., Minister of Music and organist of Metropolitan, on the church's Casavant organ, Canada's largest pipe organ with more than 8,000 pipes. Recorded at Metropolitan United Church, April 12-14, 1999. Total playing time: 61:35.

Jubilation!

The Metropolitan Silver Band conducted by Alan Moody plays major works for symphonic band, marches, hymn tune arrangements and songs featuring Metropolitan United's "singing minister" Malcolm Sinclair. Recorded in 2002. Total playing time: 66 min. Available on CD for $20 plus shipping/handling.
