Yes, as part of our MetReach ’99 Campaign. Those gifts were used wisely to restore the chancel, make urgently needed repairs to the east transept stained-glass window, and to purchase a new sound system. Now, much more restoration work needs to be done.
Yes. The daily mission of the church and related expenses continue and should be supported. Our over-and-above gifts to this campaign will enable us to minister even more effectively.
Generously and sacrificially. Our current needs are real and require more than token support. We have enjoyed the church property provided by our predecessors. This is our opportunity to show our commitment by investing in Metropolitan’s exciting future — Our Third Century. Now is the time for each of us to make a substantial gift.

The chart below shows how systematic giving over time will enable you to make a truly meaningful gift to Metropolitan United Church.

Yes, absolutely. Outright gifts are welcome, but commitments may run from three to five years. Your commitment may start and end in a time frame that suits you. Please consider a shorter giving period so our projects may move forward quickly.
As a registered not-for-profit organization, all gifts to Metropolitan are eligible for an income tax receipt for the full amount given.
Yes, we really encourage it. The church office will contact you to arrange. The process is simple, easy to do, and done electronically. Also, you will pay no capital gains — an additional tax saving.
Yes. Many of us already give monthly by Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR). It’s easy to arrange; the church will contact you if this is your preferred way of giving.
Metropolitan has depleted its reserves, including some money from our endowments, to fund our current renovations and recent improvements to our church building. What money remains is held in trust, for specific purposes, and cannot be touched.
Very little. This campaign is led by volunteers and staff. Our costs will be well under $10,000, largely for printing, photocopying, and postage.
We will be contacting former members of Metropolitan, charitable foundations, and some businesses and corporations. If you have suggestions of who we might contact, please let us know by contacting capcampaign@metunited.ca
