The next four Sundays, we celebrate Creation. The root of this season in our tradition is the liturgical Ember Days, quarterly periods during the early church that marked the changing of the seasons and the liturgical cycles of the church. It is appropriate that we take this time to celebrate with wonder and gratitude the gift of this remarkable place and seek to find new ways and rediscover some of the old ways of "living with respect in Creation."
The liturgical colour of this time is Orange, the colour of sunrise and sunset, harvest and fruitfulness, change and creativity, the red of passion tempered by the yellow of wisdom.
This Sunday, September 8 at 11 a.m. on Ocean Sunday, The Rev. Karen Bowles will be preaching on a "Charter Addition." We also welcome back The Metropolitan Choir and Silver Band - full music details follow through the link below.
