Before we get to the stars and angels and Christ child in manger, we first journey through the season of Advent. This is a time of preparation and expectation. A time of “not yet.” But even into the growing darkness and uncertainty of our days, it is a time for the proclamation of hope. The light will return. God will fulfill the promise of holy presence. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.

This Sunday we invite the congregation to resume gentle singing or humming during the hymns and responses! The Metropolitan Choir will also process with our opening hymn, "O Come, O Come Emmanuel."
