April 16, 23, and 30 from 6-8pm
What are you looking for? This was Jesus’s first question to those who sought to follow him (John 1:38). It is the fundamental question for those on the spiritual journey. What are you seeking? What do you really need, not superficially, but deep down in the core of your being?
What are you looking for? This question is the catalyst that shapes the direction our lives will take as we make decisions based on what is truly important. It's the question, that informs a calling to how we fit into the great tapestry of humanity and God's good intentions for God's good creation.
What are you looking for? Thankfully, it is a question we do not need to ask or answer alone. In this three-week introduction to an inclusive Christianity for seekers in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, we will explore our biggest questions through three main themes:
April 16, Spirituality
Who is God? How can our souls touch eternity, even within our mortality?
April 23, Discipleship
Who is Jesus and what is the church? What is the tradition in which our spiritual life takes shape and is nourished?
April 30, Justice
What is our response? Especially amidst all the bad news of our days, how can we live out Good News for the sake of the world?
Each week there will be some teachings, a shared meal, ample time for discussion, and a closing ceremony with prayer. No prior experience with church or Christianity is needed. We also understand that some may have experienced past church trauma, which will be held with tenderness and care. Being an affirming church means including all people, inclusive of gender identity, sexual orientation, differing abilities, and ethnicity. All that you are and all that you bring are welcome.
In these days of isolation and polarization, of inequality and climate anxiety, if it feels like something is missing in your life, you are invited to “come and see” (John 1:39) a way of living alongside others that holds God’s love and the healing of the world at its heart.
