The Affirm Committee hosts a Lunch & Learn after the service to celebrate PIE (Public,  Intentional, Explicit) inclusion of LGBTQ2SIA+ people and National Affirming/PIE Day on Tuesday. We welcome Katie Vardy, an M. Div. student from Emmanuel College as our guest speaker. 

In this, our PIE Day service, we will explore what it means to be Public, Intentional and Explicit in our welcome and inclusion of LGBTQ2SIA+ people. Rev. Meyers's sermon “The Water Who Seeks the Thirsty” will dig into Jesus's interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well as an example of the boundary-busting affirmation of God's love for God's children.

The cornerstone of our week, worship at 11am is offered under the leadership of Minister of Worship and Faith Formation The Rev. Jason Francis Meyers, Minister of Congregational Care and Outreach Jim Harbell (SME), Minister of Music Dr. Jonathan Oldengarm, Wayne C. Vance Organ Scholar Joshua Duncan Lee and members of the Metropolitan Choir.
