Sermon Notes

Met has been described by some as a church with a traditional liturgy and a progressive theology. This distinguishes us from other churches and either attracts or repels the seeker or church shopper. The apostle Paul in his letter to the church in Corinth is struggling to distinguish his 'brand' from other 'superapostles' who are vying for the hearts and minds of the followers of Jesus. In our Markan passage we hear Jesus speak of tax collectors, fasts, new cloth and old cloaks to those who are gathered.

This Sunday, The Rev. Karen Bowles considers Met's 'brand' through the lens of these scriptures, with her sermon "On Brand."
