Like the disciples who followed Jesus into Jerusalem, we will sometimes fail and sometimes make mistakes. And yet, after two years of COVID, this Palm Sunday also provides an opportunity to celebrate what we do right, and try to do right, and need to continue to try to do right in these challenging times.

  • Prelude: Various (J.S. Bach; Leclerc; Barber)
  • Readings: Psalm 118:1–2, 19–29; Luke 19:28–40; Luke 19:41-44
  • Anthems:
    • Hosanna to the Son of David (Weelkes)
    • Wondrous Love (arr. Parker/Shaw)
  • Organ Offertory: Ah, Dearest Jesus (J.S. Bach)
  • Sermon: "On Discipleship and Palm Sunday”
    (Rev. Dr. John H. Young)
  • Postlude: O World, I Now Must Leave You (Brahms)
There will be much palm waving and glorious chaos as the community joins in the parade alongside Jesus as he triumphantly enters the holy city of Jerusalem. We welcome The Rev. Dr. John H. Young, Interim Prinicipal of Emmanuel College, as our guest preacher.
