“Mercy” might seem like an old fashioned term. Like something shouted out in a B-rate period film as someone is hauled up to the gallows. And yet, as we will see in our scripture texts in this week’s service, mercy - the need to give and receive mercy - is something central to the spiritual life. In Rev. Meyers’s sermon “The Heresy of Love”, we will talk about mercy and another old fashioned term: grace (and also how Russian bots are trying to take down civilization as we know it… but mostly about mercy and grace).
