Our sanctuary needs restoration and repair. Care must be taken to ensure that the wonderful acoustics are preserved. This labour-intensive project will include:
♦ repair and cleaning of plaster and stonework, and
♦ painting the sanctuary—this was last done in 1962. The work will require scaffolding and special skills, given the wall surface.
The large and magnificent space that is Metropolitan’s sanctuary can be restored to a sparkling presence and an inspiring sacred space.
This project can begin once the dust from the north-end renovation settles. The goal is to complete these tasks during 2020.
