PARK REVITALIZATION PROJECT

Thanks to donations from the congregation, the Jackman Foundation and the Hal Jackman Foundation, we will soon be revitalizing our outside community space. This will include:

  • Reclaiming the eastern side of the church as parkland

  • Planting 21 trees, 465 shrubs, 521 perennials, and 334 grasses (83% native species)

  • Installing a new electronic sign

  • Restoring secondary pathways

  • Removing old benches and installing new ones

  • Creating an intentional barrier between the park and parking lot

  • Enclosing the cooling tower and garbage cans on the East side of the church

  • Creating ministry space at the London plane tree and Taddle Creek feature
  • Symbolically raising Taddle Creek with a “stream” of grasses and native plantings

  • Installing new lighting throughout the Park

  • Naming the Park: Mary Coyne Rowell Jackman Park in McGill Square
